Cansaulim/Cuelim/Arossim
The three sister consortium of beaches ends up in the beach being the second longest unbroken stretch of sandy beach in the whole of Goa. Comparatively lesser known the other beaches in the vicinity, this stretch is serene and lined with palm fronds swaying in the ocean breeze. Another sought after picnic spot for the locals who live in the vicinity. The sheer expanse of foliage is excellent refuge to open your picnic hamper or to simply stretch out your limbs and snooze.
Weather
The summer weather ranges from 33 degrees Celsius to 39 degrees Celsius, give or take a few. The rains practically cascades down for three months from mid May to September. And there’s no stopping it. Winters are mild and you don’t even realize that they’ve come and gone.
Best time to visit:
Conventionally popular visiting months are from October to March. Some try to avoid Goa in the rains. But it’s worth a visit then too, to see the monsoons in their uninhibited glory.
Getting there / Route Information
By Bus
You can get to Cansaulim either from Vasco (12 km) or from Margao (15 km). The bus stop to look out for is Cansaulim, which has the best connectivity as compared to Cuelim and Arossim. You can reach the other beaches by simply walking in either direction from Cansaulim beach.
By Train
Cansaulim is one of the very few coastal stations with railway connectivity. The nearest station is Cansaulim railway station, which can be reached either from Vasco railway station or Margao railway station by passenger trains.

Major attractions
This stretch clearly sees the serenity it provides as its USP. Don’t be surprised if the longish stretch of shaded sand evokes the poet in you. The beach has several shacks dotting it which serve local fare and liquor. One of the must see monuments in this region is the Cansaulim church which was built in the 1600. The sheer magnitude of this pure white structure is awe-inspiring. The stretch also boasts of a comparatively level water-bed, which makes swimming comparatively safe.
Vital Tourist Information
Hotel availability
The Arossim/Cansaulim/Cuelim stretch has several hotels dotting its landscape. And the range is expansive, right from a five star of the Hyatt group to several homes renting out rooms for tourists. Take your pick.
Local Transport
Motorcycle
The most preferred mode of transport is a motorcycle pilot, which are in effect two wheeler taxis, driven by licenced riders, who can transport one individual at a time.
Rent-a-bike
This is the latest addition to the transport modes in Goa and has become an instant hit. These self-driven yellow-letters-on-black number plate two wheelers or four wheelers can be sourced from the hotel you are put up in.
Taxi
Taxis, although are easily available during the peak season, the rates charged are exorbitant.
